Our client is one of the UK's leading tier 1 contractors, delivering complex construction projects across a diverse national portfolio. As the business continued to grow and invest in best-in-class tools across every function, the opportunity emerged to connect those tools into a single, coherent analytics environment.

Finance, commercial, programme, safety, design and digital construction each had mature platforms in place. The ambition was to bring the data from those platforms together — giving leadership, business unit teams and project managers a joined-up picture of performance without changing the tools or ways of working that were already embedded across the business. The business engaged Acumine to design and deliver that programme.

Pipeline to orderbook in one view

The Pre-contract dashboard connected the commercial team with live data from the CRM platform, giving a complete picture of commercial performance from opportunity to secured revenue.

The solution consolidated the opportunity pipeline, revenue weightings, historic conversion rates and the live orderbook into a single reporting environment — giving commercial leadership a consistent, integrated view of pipeline health, secured revenue and conversion performance.

Project portfolio dashboard

Programme, commercial and safety in one place

The Project Portfolio dashboard gave regional and project leadership a unified view across the three core dimensions of project performance: programme, commercial and safety.

Programme module

Construction programme intelligence at portfolio scale

Building on Acumine's established Programme Intelligence capability, the Programme module went deeper into construction schedule analytics than the portfolio dashboard — providing project teams and programme managers with detailed insight into schedule performance, risk and trends.

The solution integrated with the client's scheduling platform to bring schedule data into a governed reporting environment, extending this with procurement tracking to link programme milestones with procurement status. This gave project teams a more complete picture of delivery risk — particularly where procurement delays had the potential to affect programme.

Information delivery plan

Design reporting across 100 live projects

The design reporting ambition extended well beyond one project — spanning a portfolio of around 100 live projects at any one time. Acumine designed and delivered a scalable platform to match.

Built on cloud data engineering tools with Power BI reporting, the solution used a medallion architecture to ingest and transform design deliverable data from source systems into a structured, governed reporting environment. A single platform served the full portfolio, providing a consistent and automated view of design performance across all active projects.

Row-level security ensured that users could only see the projects they were authorised to access. The solution surfaced planned versus actual deliverables, approaching and overdue submissions, and information quality metrics — giving design managers and leadership timely, actionable sight of delivery performance across the portfolio.

Raw, Bronze and Silver data layers structured the flow from source systems into a clean, reporting-ready model using cloud data engineering tools.

Interactive views of design submission performance helped teams and leadership identify overdue deliverables and emerging delivery risk before they escalated.

Digital construction reporting

Turning specialist tools into operational insight

The client's investment in digital construction tools — drone surveying and BIM clash detection — generated valuable operational data. The challenge was turning that data into usable management insight. Acumine built reporting solutions for both.

Drone operations and CAA compliance

The client uses a drone surveying platform across its project portfolio to support progress capture, project controls and digital construction. Acumine built an API-led reporting solution to meet annual Civil Aviation Authority compliance requirements and extend the value of the investment into operational insight.

Using the platform's APIs with separate RAW and Bronze pipelines feeding a Silver reporting layer, the solution automated CAA reporting while also surfacing operational insight into capture frequency, flight safety, user adoption and project engagement.

Clash detection and design co-ordination

The client adopted a BIM clash co-ordination platform to enhance collaboration and support real-time clash co-ordination across its projects. The platform was being used operationally, but the business needed a consistent, scalable way to report on its effectiveness — tracking issue volumes, resolution performance, user adoption and supply chain engagement.

Acumine designed and delivered a Power BI reporting layer that turned issue data into a practical management tool. The solution provided project, business unit and company-level views of clash and issue activity, with drill-through to issue level and direct links back into the platform — giving teams a stronger basis for design co-ordination meetings and management oversight.
